Reformation Essay I believe choosing to take the course on the Renaissance would be a very wise decision. After recently finishing an in depth study on the Italian and Northern Renaissance I could tell you a few things that might spark your interest. One being that the popular cartoon show Ninja Turtles got their character names from four of the most famous men of the Renaissance. His most famous work was the statue of Venetian general, Gattemelata. Donatello w as also thefirst sculptor to display his knowledge of human anatomy. The ninja turtle Leonardo gets his name from the Italian Renaissance artist, Leonardo Da Vinci. Although everyone knows Leonardo Da Vinci for his wonderful paintings, The Last Supper and The Mona Lisa he has also studied geology, chemistry and anatomy. Michelangelo was also a man very good a several things. He was a great sculptor, architect, painter, and poet. One of Michelangelos most famous work was the walls and ceiling of the Sistine Chapel, which he painted for a total of four years. Raphael was a painter known for his beautiful religious paintings. Leo X and Julius II were two popes very fond of Raphaels work. Raphael also was appointed chief architect of the St. Peters Church.
